Sunday Thoughts - Consistent and Persistent

Last week, we discussed the importance of setting SMART goals in your fitness journey and how to effectively set them. Hopefully, you've set your goals, and now it's time to put them into action.

One of the most important steps in achieving your fitness goals is to have a plan in place. This includes having a clear idea of how you will achieve your goals and having a schedule in place to help you stay on track. This could include things like meal planning, scheduling exercise time, and setting reminders.

Another important aspect of achieving your fitness goals is to be consistent and persistent. Consistency is key in making progress and seeing results. Consistency means sticking to your plan and making sure you're taking the necessary steps to achieve your goals, even when it's difficult. Persistence means not giving up even when you encounter obstacles or setbacks.

Keeping track of your progress will help you to stay motivated and on track, and will also help you to see how far you've come. It will also help you to identify areas where you may need to make adjustments in order to achieve your goals.

Having a support system can help you to stay motivated and accountable, and will also provide you with a source of encouragement and inspiration. This could be friends, family, or a coach.

One of the most important things to remember is that setting and achieving fitness goals is a journey, not a destination. There will be setbacks and obstacles along the way, but it's important to stay focused on your goals and not give up! With the right mindset and a commitment to your fitness goals, you can achieve amazing results.

Two actionable steps you can take this week:

  • Make a schedule for the week that includes your exercise and meal plans. Write them down and stick to them as much as possible.

  • Reach out to a friend or family member and ask them to be your accountability partner. Share your goals with them, and check in with them regularly to update them on your progress.

Remember, setting and achieving your fitness goals is a journey, and it won't happen overnight. Stay committed and consistent, and keep pushing forward. With time and effort, you'll be well on your way to achieving your goals!
